MISSOULA – Carol Lorraine Kinney passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was the second child of Lois & Bill Kinney, born just before Christmas on the day the Kinney family moved to their Mullan Road farm in 1945.
Carol devoted her life to helping others. She was extremely involved in numerous political, environmental, and social organizations. She spent her time and energy contributing to those less fortunate and to making the world a better place.
Carol graduated from Missoula County High School and attended the University of Montana. She worked as a nursing aid, child care provider, and waitress/trainer/manager/owner in the restaurant industry. She was also an accomplished photographer.
Carol’s most important job was raising six children: Lorraine (Lori) of Seattle, WA; Christopher of Orange County, CA; Charles of Portland, OR; JLara of Vancouver, WA; Joseph of Portland, OR; and Alexander of Hollywood, CA.
In addition to her children, she is also survived by her brother Don Kinney and seven grandchildren, whom she adored. She left this world the same way she arrived, surrounded by loved ones on the family farm.
A celebration of Carol’s life was held on Saturday, June 22, 2013. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Carol’s name to the Montana Audubon Society.
